Frequently Asked Questions

The law requires the silhouette (markings) of an animal to be completed for all passport applications.

The silhouette must be completed to a high standard to record ALL features. This should enable the animal to be positively identified if a microchip scanner is not available.

We require at least 5 good identifying features to be recorded to include at least one whorl. If you are unable to find sufficient features please draw the outline of the chestnut on each leg in the section provided.
